Lister:New Media and New Technologies Pg 3+

In order for any product to work there has to be an existing market for the product to be sold in, some pessimists might regard this as a capitalistic ideology that society is has been conditioned to believe, but the key argument that they fail to note is that society is a discriminating this is a key point that I have observed in most academic research the theorists seem to think that society is passive and will just wallow in everything that they are presented with. If we consider life without the technologies that we are accustomed to we would still live in a primitive society and is that what the analysts see as a non capitalistic society? if there hadn’t been developments of computer programs and other such technologies would we be able to achieve some of the things that we can such as running worldwide businesses from the comfort of one’s home, granted none of the basics of technology have changed but they have been used as a framework to build upon new ideas and concepts to enable us to live in a technologically advanced society.
