This interactivity can be classed as ‘social media’ “Social media describes the online technologies and products that people use to share opinions, insights, experiences and perspectives with each other” (Wikipedia:2007) Online forums/message boards allows the user to connect with others without being limited by geographical location or time, the messages do not need to be instant nor do people need to be gathered in the same physical location.
